
Step By Step Guide To MyBya Physiological Profile (PPT) Lactate Self-Test
Start Test: Step 1- Easy Pace
Start the PPT test at an easy pace. For more seasoned runners, start the test about 1 minute per mile slower than estimated 5k pace. At the end of each stage record heart rate (highest number at end), time for interval, and blood lactate value.
Step 3
Continue to progress the stages down by 10-15 seconds. Record Heart Rate, Time, and Lactate for each stage.
Step 5
Continue to progress increasing pace 10-15 seconds per interval.
Pro Tips
Streamline blood collection with these pro tips!
To collect a lactate sample:
1. Clean area vigorously with an alcohol wipe. 2. Stick the inside of the finger with the lancing device.
3. Wipe the first drop of blood with a cotton swab.
4. Collect the next blood drop onto the lactate strip.
Step 2
Run each interval about 10-15 seconds faster than the previous stage. Collect the lacate sample a quickly as possible after the completion of the interval.
Step 4
Check on progress to be sure that athlete can continue to complete additional stages 10-15 seconds faster.
End Test: Step 6- Maximum Effort
Finish the test with a maximum effort pace.
